'Vibration Training'? Does anybody have any experience...

...with this concept as advertised by this website www.bettervibrations.com.

Someone i know has been 'promised' it would help reclaim/rebuild his bone density and i (being rather suspicious by nature) am rather skeptical of the spiel in the leaflet i was given to peruse.

Could anyone shed some light on this kind of product and the claims about it's uses for the NFL,NBA etc, etc.

Having never come across this contraption i'd like to learn a little more...

Many thanks in advance.

Those devices work wonders for flexibility and relaxation; they are used by many professional and Olympic athletes. I am not sure about their claims for bone density.

The devices I used were manufactured by an Italian company and cost upwards of $10,000. A little expensive for your average home gym.

The curiousity

Thanks for the replies,guys.Really appreciated.....

Yes,most definitely i am familiar with the natural vibration concepts from Coach Sonnon. That's the stuff i dig.Natural.

The curiousity with the 'machine' lies in the curative claims made about it's uses and,the astounding claim that 12 mins activity on it being a 1,000 calorie burner.I know that i,like countless others, work hard in training BUT i'll need some serious convincing to believe that it alone can substitute for the kind of training methods we use.

It's such an odd idea that i needed to check if the NFL claims etc were true.I immediately thought that they must be using it for active recovery, relaxation,as part of a rehad regime or something along those lines. But,as full blown out workouts. That's too freaky, man.

For therapeutic purposes,cool.Relaxation,cool.But,to replace my workouts? How? Too odd, man, too odd.

What are the holes with this technology? There is always a lacunae, somewhere.

Please do not misinterpret my astonishment at the claim for total closed mindedness or untried objection to something i've just been informed about. But,a machine instead of HOC!?! I can't see this, man. But,i'll need some serious hardcore proof that this 'machine' can do all those things they are claiming it can do.

Thanks again.Good training to you.

'Vibration Training'(prettly long)

last time i had to make a research about, I found something like 32 very good documents (3 or 4 of them in German language). I still have them somewhere in my pc. if you are seriously interested, let me have your e-mail address and i'll send them.
By the way, the late Prof. Bosco, inventor of the famous "Nemes-Bosco vibrating platform"( the only device used by NASA to re-educate astronauts on return on the planet) did a serius job. The good effects on bone density are well recognized all over the world. About muscle and strength, they are still experimenting, but there is no visible success compared to normal resistance training. The concept was also applied to a "vibrating handle", but Bosco died before a complete study was effected.
in simple terms: all the hype about the vibrating platform and fitness effects has still to be seriously determinated.
Can by the way somebody address me to the free-hand applications of Sonnon and Tsatsouline, or let me have a complete document about?
thanks alot
and Ciao
Mario
